Luke Evans, Technical Director, Geology Group Leader

Luke Evans, M.Sc., P.Eng., Technical Director, Geology Group Leader has over 30 years of mineral industry and consulting experience, specializing in resource and reserve audits, estimates and training, geostatistical studies, valuations of mineral properties, technical reports, and due diligence. Mr. Evans has worked on projects ranging from grassroots reconnaissance to underground exploration and development worldwide, including Canada, USA, Mexico, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Argentina, Venezuela, Columbia, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Brazil, Greece, Spain, Sweden, Finland, Senegal, Ghana, Mali, Mauritania, Botswana, Papua New Guinea, Kazakhstan, Siberia, Far East Russia, and China.  He has worked on gold, silver, PGE, REE, base metal, copper, iron, manganese, phosphate, sulphide and laterite nickel, uranium, diamond, and industrial mineral projects. He has extensive experience with GEMS and other mining software.

Ian T. Blakley, Managing Principal Geologist

Ian T. Blakley, P.Geo., EurGeol, Managing Principal Geologist, is based in London. He is a Principal Geologist with over 30 years’ experience in mining geology and exploration. He has a background ranging from grassroots through to mine exploration including planning and supervision of drill programs, mineral resource and mineral reserve estimation, and the management of geological exploration and production teams. Ian has extensive mineral resource and reserve experience including long-term strategic resource accounting and mine planning, and has been involved in Life of Mine Plan analysis, property evaluations, and related cash flow projections. He has worked on nickel, gold, silver, copper, and uranium projects in a wide range of geological environments and regions.

Sean Horan, Technical Manager, Geology

Sean Horan, P.Geo, Technical Manager, Geology, Principal Geologist and Geostatistician has over ten years of mining industry experience including mining and consulting experience worldwide. His consulting experience includes Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve audits, due diligence, and modelling for projects ranging from exploration to production stages. In addition, his work has covered exploration target evaluation, database and data administration, grade control, resource modelling, estimation, simulation, and geostatistical studies.  Mr. Horan has experience using various commercial and open source mining software packages, principally Datamine Studio 3, Leapfrog, and Snowden Supervisor. Mr. Horan develops utilities in Visual Basic and Python, and is well versed in a number of scripting languages.

William E. Roscoe, Associate Principal Geologist

William E. Roscoe, Ph.D., P.Eng., Associate Principal Geologist, was a founding partner of RPA in 1985. Dr. Roscoe has extensive experience in mineral exploration, mineral resource and mineral reserve estimation, reviews using both conventional and geostatistical methods, valuation of mineral properties, supervision of exploration projects, and monitoring of exploration joint ventures. He has particular expertise in the preparation of qualifying reports and assessment of advanced projects.

Wayne W. Valliant, Associate Principal Geologist
Wayne W. Valliant, P.Geo., Principal Geologist, has more than 35 years of experience including reserve estimation, feasibility studies, project management, and mine development and operations. As a consultant, he has carried out numerous assignments, for a variety of commodities, in North, Central, and South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. Prior to his work as a consultant, Mr. Valliant held senior management and technical service positions in underground and open pit mining operations.  His responsibilities included coordinating engineering and geological departments at operating and developing mines, pit design, long/short range planning, grade control, and property evaluations.
Chester M. Moore, Associate Principal Geologist

Chester M. Moore, P.Eng., is a Principal Geologist with over 30 years' experience in base metals and gold including all facets of mineral exploration, mine geology and development, due diligence investigations and scoping, pre-feasibility, and feasibility studies. He has experience in a variety of geological environments in North America, South America, Africa, and Australia. He has worked on numerous projects involving mineral resource and reserve estimation and has extensive experience in advanced exploration programs to the feasibility study level for nickel laterite, nickel sulphide, copper porphyry, and copper-zinc deposits.

Reno Pressacco, Principal Geologist

Reno Pressacco, M.Sc.(A), P.Geo., is a Principal Geologist with over 30 years' experience in mineral exploration, development, and mining operations. His experience includes mineral resource estimation, audits of mineral resources and reserves, due diligence reviews of exploration, development, and operating properties, and preparation of NI 43-101 Technical Reports. Reno has participated in the assessment and valuation of mines and mineral properties, and in the creation, design, and scheduling of open pit mines using Surpac mine modelling software. Reno has carried out assignments in North, Central, and South America, Finland, Russia, Armenia, and China in a variety of geological environments that host gold, silver, copper, zinc, lead, nickel, molybdenum, uranium, PGM, and industrial minerals deposits.

Rosmery J. Cárdenas Barzola, Principal Geologist

Rosmery J. Cárdenas Barzola, P.Eng., is a Principal Geologist with over 15 years of experience including exploration, development, and production operations at both underground and open pit facilities. She has a high level of experience with mining software and 3D modelling systems. Ms. Cardenas has extensive experience with logging, geological and geotechnical mapping, data analysis, quality assurance/quality control, and resource estimation. She is an experienced user of Vulcan, Leapfrog, Minesight, GVMapper, Arc GIS, GSlib software and Phinar's X10-Geo. Rosmery Cárdenas is fluent in English and Spanish.

Mark B. Mathisen, Principal Geologist

Mark B. Mathisen, C.P.G., Principal Geologist, has over 25 years of experience in the exploration and mining industries in the North and South America, Africa, and Mongolia.  His uranium and gold project experience includes resource estimates, property evaluations, project development, and the design, development, and implementation of geophysical exploration programs.   He is experienced in using RockWorks, Surfer, Grapher, VULCAN, X10-Geo, and Leapfrog data modeling software, SQL, DHLogger and Access database software, and Mount Sopris MGXII and Matrix geophysical data acquisition software.  

Paul Chamois, Principal Geologist

Paul Chamois, M.Sc.(A), P.Geo., is a Principal Geologist with over 35 years of experience in the mining industry.  Prior to joining RPA, Mr. Chamois worked for major mining companies for a total of 22 years including 12 years as District Geologist for Phelps Dodge Corporation of Canada, Limited.  Subsequently, he worked for junior mining companies as Vice President of Exploration and President.  His experience includes exploration and advanced property management, corporate development, project generation and property acquisition, option agreement negotiations, and regulatory and financial oversight.  He has been involved in the evaluation of mineral properties at various stages of development for over 20 years.  His experience includes projects in North and South America, Africa, Asia, and Europe.  He has participated in several property valuations, due diligence assignments, and has written NI 43-101 Technical Reports on gold, uranium, iron, and base metal properties.

David W. Rennie, Associate Principal Geologist

David W. Rennie, P.Eng., Associate Principal Geologist, has over 30 years' experience, including resource and reserve estimates, technical reports, audits, and due diligence assignments for a wide range of mineral deposits in many areas of the world. He has experience in geological modelling using Gemcom, Surpac, and Vulcan software.

Philip A. Geusebroek, Senior Geologist

Philip A. Geusebroek, M.Sc., P.Geo., is a Senior Geologist  with 12 years of experience in the mining industry.  Mr. Geusebroek has extensive experience in geological and block modelling (nearest neighbour, inverse distance and ordinary kriging).  His experience includes Mineral Resource and Mineral Reserve estimation, geostatistical analysis, technical reporting, and geological data compilation and management.  Philip Geusebroek is an advanced user of Vulcan and Datamine resource modelling software.  He also uses Sage, AutoCAD, AcQuire, MS Access, SQLite, Python, AWK, CSH, QGIS, ArcGIS, and LATEX.   

Katharine M. Masun, Senior Geologist

Katharine M. Masun, M.Sc., MSA, P.Geo., is a Senior Geologist with more than 18 years' experience in mineral exploration, evaluation, and project management; in particular the exploration and evaluation of diamond properties. Her international experience includes Brazil, India, and South Africa (diamonds), Australia (iron ore), and USA (copper, nickel, PGE deposits). Ms. Masun now specializes in mineral resource modelling. She is a user of MapInfo/Discover, ArcGIS, Gemcom, Phinar's X10-Geo and SPSS statistical software.

Tudorel Ciuculescu, Senior Geologist

Tudorel Ciuculescu, M.Sc., P.Geo., Senior Geologist, has over five years of exploration experience. Mr. Ciuculescu has been involved in projects both in Canada and Chile. He is responsible for data management, interpretation, and modelling for exploration drill programs, scoping studies, and mineral resource estimations.  Mr. Ciuculescu is skilled at using Gemcom, Leapfrog, AutoCAD and Phinar's X10-Geo.

Valerie Wilson, Senior Geologist

Valerie Wilson, M.Sc., P.Geo., is a Senior Geologist with over 10 years of experience in the mining industry. She has been involved in projects exploring for precious and base metals, as well as for industrial minerals, in a variety of geological settings. Ms. Wilson has completed a Master’s degree in Mining Geology and Geostatistics. Her current work is focused on lithology and mineralization modelling, Mineral Resource estimates, NI 43-101 technical reports, technical reviews, and audits.  Ms. Wilson’s experience includes grass roots exploration work in Scandinavia and Canada, and Mineral Resource work in North and South America, Europe, Central Asia, and Africa.  She is an advanced user of Vulcan and Leapfrog Geo software for geological modelling and mineral resource estimation.  Ms. Wilson is an active committee member of the Toronto Geological Discussion Group (TGDG).

José M. Texidor Carlsson, Senior Geologist

José M. Texidor Carlsson, M.Sc., P.Geo., is a Senior Geologist with more than ten years of exploration and mining experience in Canada, Chile, Mexico and China, for gold, base metals and uranium deposits. Prior to his work as an independent consultant, Mr. Texidor Carlsson held progressively senior positions with junior mining companies.  José’s exploration experience includes project management, surface mapping, surface drilling and underground exploration. He is proficient with multiple geophysical techniques, geochemical methods, and various GIS platforms.  He has a strong background in collecting and processing data, and had a previous career in software engineering.  He has extensive experience in resource estimation and is an experienced user of Surpac, GEMS, MapInfo/Discover, ArcGIS and Global Mapper.

Jack P. Lunnon, Senior Geologist

Jack P. Lunnon, CGeol, EurGeol, is a Senior Geologist with seven years of mining industry experience in base and precious metals as well as industrial minerals.  He is an advanced (beta) user of Micromine for block modelling, resource estimation, data manipulation, drill hole planning, and wireframing.  Mr. Lunnon is experienced in data collection, validation, protection and manipulation, along with ODBC data connection management as well as complex SQL queries. He also has experience in the use of ArcGIS,  MapInfo and Discover software to generate maps, interpretations, and graphical displays. His geological modelling proficiency is backed by field experience, including managing exploration teams, on a range of commodities across remote parts of Africa, the Middle East, and Australia.

Dorota El-Rassi, Senior Geological Engineer

Dorota El-Rassi, M.Sc., P.Eng., is a Senior Geological Engineer at RPA.  Ms. El Rassi has over 18 years’ experience in exploration, resource estimation and consulting.  As a Senior Resource Engineer Ms. El Rassi has experience which includes preparation of geological and ore deposit 3D models, analysis of the geostatistics and variography of deposits, resource audits and preparation of National Instrument 43-101 technical reports.  She has been involved in a variety of commodities comprising gold, silver, copper, nickel, zinc, PGE and industrial mineral deposits in North America, South America, Asia and Africa.

Clare Kelly, Senior Geologist

Clare Kelly, MSci, CGeol, FGS, is a senior geologist with 12 years’ experience in the mining industry.  Ms. Kelly’s areas of expertise include geological modelling, exploration best practice, and international codes for reporting of Mineral Resources.  Ms. Kelly spent eight years as a resource consultant and senior geologist with Micromine in the United Kingdom and Mongolia where she provided technical support and delivered training courses to Micromine users.  Prior to joining Micromine, Clare Kelly was a project geologist for junior exploration companies in Australia.  Ms. Kelly’s consulting experience includes exploration planning, resource estimation, and preparation of JORC and NI 43-101 Technical Reports.  Her commodities experience includes coal, iron ore, gold, copper, molybdenum, and manganese.

John Makin, Senior Geologist

John Makin, MAIG, is a Senior Geologist with over seven years’ experience in geological modelling, resource and reserve estimation and the design and implementation of grade control sampling programs in both open pit and underground operations.  He started his career with Mandalay Resources as a Mine Geologist in Australia and advanced to Resource Manager for the Bjorkdal mine in Sweden where he directed annual resource and reserve updates and managed a team to deliver reconcilable models for long term planning and short-term mine design, in both underground and open pit context.

Mr. Makin is an advanced user of Surpac, an experienced user of Datamine, and has also used Leapfrog resource modelling software.  He is an experienced user of Whittle open pit optimization software, and has a strong understanding of relational databases including MS Access.  John Makin is a proficient speaker of Portuguese and understands French and Swedish. 

Ryan Rodney, Geologist

Ryan Rodney, C.P.G., is a geologist with fifteen years of experience in the mining industry.  His geological modelling proficiency is backed by field experience, covering a range of commodities across parts of Mexico, Argentina, Chile and Bolivia and USA. Ryan has experience in resource estimation, geological modelling, and mineralization modelling as well as technical report preparation.   Mr. Rodney has been involved in presenting and executing budgets, and developing process flow maps and standard operating procedures.  Ryan is experienced with mapping and analysing borehole data, mapping out locations and targets for future drill platforms and has worked with Land Management to determine land and mineral ownership status.  Ryan is highly skilled in acQuire database software, Maptek Vulcan, Maptek I-Site and Leapfrog modelling software.
