Leo Hwozdyk is an Associate Mining Consultant with RPA. Mr. Hwozdyk has over 26 years of significant technical, consulting, projects and operations experience in the mining industry. He has held various senior level engineering-management production positions in underground mechanized track and trackless operations, as well as truck and shovel open pit operations.
Mr. Hwozdyk's mine contracting experience spans the management of large-scale mining projects, including; production and development, shaft sinking, and installation of major surface infrastructure. As a consultant, with international experience, he has managed technical due diligence audits of projects for the purpose of identifying sell, develop and acquire options for clients. Additional areas of expertise range from conceptual mine design and capital and operating cost estimates to detailed mine design and optimization. Mr. Hwozdyk has successfully managed the development and implementation of operation performance enhancement initiatives that have resulted in substantial cost benefits by increasing productivity and profitability. He has worked on feasibility assignments in Kazakstan, Armenia and the Kyrgyz Republic.
Mr. Hwozdyk has a Mining Technology Diploma from Haileybury School of Mines and a B.Sc. Degree in Mining Engineering from Queens University. He is registered as a Professional Engineer of Ontario and is a Member of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.
